IMF- Day 1

Reporting time was at 9am.. Meet yj, tami, minli @ city hall station. Changed and walked to Suntec. The security was freaking strict. No one could access the bridge w/o the pass and when we reached the enterance, we had to scan our passes and put our bags thru the x-ray thingy while we walked thru the metal detector machine.

After going thru that, proceeded to Basement 1 where our rest area is. They converted the carpark area into an air-conditioned rest room for us. Waited, had briefing for our floors and we received another lanyard with a notebook and pen and we were supposed to wear it around our neck too. So, we had like our tags and notebook hanging on our necks. Unglam. We were also given clipboards to carry. That whole attire = cleaner's attire. Toilet cleaner. Haha.

The clipboard.

It was empty! Haha. Maybe i shd pour water on the floor to record something :P

This is our area...

The thingy beside the blue wall is the Photo Booth.

The restaurant, selling moon cakes beside. Closed for public for these 10 days lah! Haha. Beside it, press corner.

The view from our seats. The guy in the suit, BODYGUARD! You can also see the bag on the floor. But most of the time they were carrying it.

The wall area they covered up and pasted posters all over.

10am, proceeded upstairs to take over Team A's shift. It was like a ghost town there! No delegates, only staff. My partner, Jessica and I were situated ourside the overflow room and press corner. AND, there were 2 bodyguards there!! Dressed in suites carrying a bag of I dunno what. They looked damn fierce.

Jessica and I. It was so boring that we were snapping pictures!

So, we made frenz with our floor captain of Suntec. We also found seats to sit outside the conference rooms (: Anws, some of the bodyguards were kinda friendly. They kept on changing people every hr. Heard that they are from Nepal and they are like the best of the best in their country to be posted in SG.

We started touring our floor area, pretty boring.. Nth much to see. We were waiting for lunch, which was at 12pm! But, we had to wait for Team A to come up before going for our lunch.

We were also issued handphones to use to call our floor manager (FM) to report stuff. The phones they gave us isnt even out in the market yet!

The phone! Camera is damn lousy lah. We used it to snap most of our pics.

Aww. Some of the CFA's were given walkie-talkies!

This was the Captain's one. Its HUGE! My first time seeing and touching a walkie talkie! Cool shit lah.

Lunch time, headed to our rest area. Had like A LOT of rice with bland chicken and some tou fu product. Yuck. But, I managed to eat the chicken. YJ, Tami and I then decided to go out and walk around Suntec- in our ugly uniform because we were too lazy to change!

Had peanut butter cookie form Subway and cinnamon pretzel. YUM! Walked back to the convention centre and we realized we had to walk a big round out to the security checkpoint again! Grr. Troublesome.

The next 2hrs passed by quicker. There were a lot of groups of people from the press touring around my level, so we sort of people watched to pass our time. I kept on bugging the bodyguard to tell me what was inside his bag! But all he said was 'something' Hahaha.

I also walked to the photo booth to ask if I could develop pics. Guess what. 1 6R photo costs $20?!?! SO EXPENSIVE!

There was a press conference @ the overflow room at 4pm, so by 3.30 people started going in and we were left with no choice but to stand because they needed the tables and chairs to register the media people.

4pm reached, went down again for our dinner break. No food, so we decided to slack at Starbucks. YJ saw an eyecandy there! :P Haha. Aiyah, the bodyguards are good enough to keep us entertained! (: Tanned, toned but too bad all of them are short ):

CUTE aye! Haha. One of the many bodyguards around!

Went back to level 3 at 5.30pm.. Chit chatted with the bodyguard then when it was like 6pm, our FM told us we could go back to Rest Area already! We were supposed to go at 6.30pm actually. Dinner was served. Rice, curry fish and curry veg- better than lunch. Debriefed, changed and HOME!!

I know, the photo resolution sucks. Shall bring my digi cam tmr and try to smuggle it up! If not, shall use my phone to take photos with that irritating sound. Maybe I'll take pics of our toilet cleaner uniform also! Its like once in a lifetime we get to dress like that! :D
