Kim is bored. Bored of studying, so she's taking a break (: Lets blog about vegas :D
LAS VEGAS STUDY TRIP- DAY 7
So, as I was saying in my previous LV post.. Day 6 marks the last day of all official programmes (: While the others spent their day shopping, YJ, Ms Cheng and I booked a trip down to GRAND CANYON. Yes yes, I forgo-ed shopping to go sight seeing!
The tour was a stop at Hoover Dam and then to the west rim of Grand Canyon. Cost was USD100 per pax.
The last time I went, which was when I was still staying in LA, we wen to the east rim- more touristy and there were barriers and all.
See what I mean. Ledges so that people won't fall down the canyon. Haha.
The west rim is all natural (:
So, being in Las Vegas (Nevada)- quite far away from Grand Canyon (Arizona) [we crossed states!!!] we had to wake up FREAKING EARLY. When the sun hasnt rose yet. And fyi, sun rises in Vegas at abt 5+am.. And we had to go to my beloved STRATOSPHERE to meet the rest of the tour group. Ok, so AT LEAST I went into Stratosphere but I didn't go ALL THE WAY UP to play the 3 white knuckle rides ):
We then took a coach bus to some place to register and pay for the trip up.. And then took another coach bus to another place to change to another bus that brought us up up up (:
Massive land space over there..
We see Hoover Dam..
And we stopped over at Hoover Dam to snap a few photos. (and our faces turned out quite dark cuz of the sun)
More coach riding..
Like finally.. After such a long ride up we reached our destination (:
First things first- LUNCH!
This in exchange of..
This (: It looks quite unappetizing, but its seriously GOOD.
And we spent about 3hrs at Grand Canyon itself.
We climbed up this hill and chilled there (:
I shall just post all the photos we took there. SEE ROCKS, ROCKS and MORE ROCKS (:
We bought this from there. And we all received a cert for visiting the West rim of Grand Canyon (:
Headed down down down again with like 2 stopovers to change coaches.
THE PLACE WAS FREEZING COLD! YI JUAN'S HANDS WERE SHIVERING AND MY TEETH WERE CHATTERING.
There was like a jam from Hoover Dam back to Vegas. So our friendly driver played the movie "viva las vegas" for us. But I only watched a little before falling asleep. Ha.
Arriving at Circus Circus, we took the Deuce wanting to head back to our hotel. BUT, we so wanted to try International House Of Pancakes (IHOP) because we heard it was damn good.
Ms Cheng ordered the chicken thingy. I ordered the GIGANTIC omelette (which came with like 3 pancakes) and YJ ordered blueberry pancakes.
And this was our leftover. I seriously wonder how many eggs they used for my omelette. I didn't even touch my pancakes! ):
And then we headed back to the hotel and the rest were still not back from shopping. Haha.
Oh man, I seriously miss vegas. Eh, no. I miss travelling! Haha. I wanna go Bangkok and shop and Genting for the theme park. Hello 8 weeks holiday- you are so near yet so far!
